Trash Friends is always looking for new members to join our team! We are particularly interested in candidates with cleaning, organizing, and/or decluttering experience, as well people with lived experience with hoarding, and people who have backgrounds in psychology, social work, or related fields. We are also always interested in expanding the services we provide, and are excited to hear what new skills potential employees can bring to the table.

Trash Friends sets aside funds to cover the cost of our Trans employees’ legal name changes, and hopes to soon expand the fund in order to also assist with the cost of additional gender-affirming healthcare for Trans employees, as well as reproductive healthcare, and HIV/STI prevention and treatment medication. We are committed to paying our employees an actual living wage, providing any necessary accommodations, and supporting mental health needs. Our employees are given full autonomy, creating their own schedules, and choosing where they work and who they work for.

The majority of Trash Friends team members are currently 1099 contractors, but we are working towards making everyone W2 employees, providing healthcare benefits, and PTO. In the meantime, we try to offer our employees as many perks as we can afford! Unlike most cleaning companies, we do not require that our employees have a car. Experience is preferred, but not required; We value employing empathetic, compassionate, and hard-working individuals over those with vast experience.
