Every Monday at 6:30pm CST on Zoom!
Trash Talk is a free hoarding support group developed by Adrian “Trash” Hadlock, owner of Trash Friends. Trash recovered from severe hoarding disorder in 2020; As a staunch Atheist, he has felt extremely uncomfortable and out of place in hoarding support groups. Groups like Clutterer’s Anonymous and Messies Anonymous are shame-based and teach that you are powerless over the clutter, and require that you believe in, and turn your life over to a higher power in order to recover. Trash is living proof that, in reality, YOU are the only one with any power over the clutter, and you do not need god in order to overcome it. The Trash Talk hoarding recovery program is based on the Transtheoretical Model (also known as the Stages of Change model), and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, which have both been developed through research and scientifically proven to show results. Trash Talk meetings are free to join, and are held on Monday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm CST. Meetings will be followed by a digital parking lot where you can chat and hang out with other people struggling with hoarding. Additionally, a link to a special Trash Talk Discord will be shared with meeting attendees so you can stay in touch with the people you meet in meetings and find a Trash Friend to work on the program with. You will never be asked to turn your camera on or speak in meetings, so please don’t hesitate to try them out!
