TRASH FRIENDS
TRASH FRIENDS
Trash Friends is a Trans-owned and fully Trans/Queer operated company that provides a range of home and mental health services, including cleaning, decluttering, organizing, body doubling, donation pick-up, handyqueer services, and more! We focus on assisting clients with hoarding disorder, depression, and ADHD, and use sensory-friendly cleaning products.
Serving Chicago and the Suburbs
About Us
On our team, we have multiple cleaners with over ten years of experience, people with backgrounds in psychology and social work, and even people who have overcome severe hoarding disorder themselves. While we each have different backgrounds and strengths, we were all drawn to this line of work because we have struggled with our own mental health and are passionate about helping others. We understand what you’re going through firsthand, and want to help you reclaim your space, and your life.
We are committed to giving back to the community by offering sliding scale, payment plans, and a number of free services each month. Additionally, $5 from every service goes into a fund to assist our Trans employees with legal name changes and associated fees.
All of our employees are neurodivergent and completely non-judgmental. They have passed background checks and have also signed NDAs that prohibit them from sharing information about the condition of your home, or the amount of pets you have living there, with anyone, including but not limited to landlords, Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, the Fire Marshal, and ICE. We refuse to punish our clients for being brave enough to finally ask for help. And rest assured, no matter how bad it is, we have seen worse!

Virtual Group Body Doubling Session!
About Those Body Doubling Sessions!
Body doubling is basically an accountability group for completing tasks; We meet up virtually and work on separate tasks together. Some people use the time to clean, declutter, meal prep, do paperwork, or even finish up on a craft project! And because body doubling also offers a low-pressure socialization opportunity, otherwise mundane tasks feel more fun! You will never be asked to turn your camera on or speak. Body doubling is highly effective for neurodivergent people, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, and hoarding disorder. Virtual Group Body doubling sessions are held over Zoom every other Sunday from 10am-1pm CST, and every other Wednesday from 6pm-9pm CST. Admission is $30 for three hours.
Admission to one free virtual group body doubling session is available to all our clients - come check it out!
**Please no eating, smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol on
camera, or speaking about politics in body doubling session as it can be triggering for some
people. If you would like to play music, please mute yourself or use headphones.**
Every Monday at 6:30pm CST on Zoom!
Trash Talk is a free, non-theistic recovery/support group for hoarding and related behaviors developed by Adrian “Trash” Hadlock, owner of Trash Friends. It is based on the Transtheoretical Model (also known as the Stages of Change model), and utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, which have both been developed through research and scientifically proven to show results. Meetings will be followed by a digital parking lot where you can chat and hang out with other people struggling with hoarding and a link to a special Trash Talk Discord will be shared with meeting attendees so you can stay in touch with the people you meet in meetings and find a Trash Friend to work on the program with. You will never be asked to turn your camera on or speak in meetings, so please don’t hesitate to try them out!
